More than two hundred laptops delivered by Taiwan on Monday, September 9th started being provided in Ivano-Frankivsk schools. As part of the Ukrainian-Taiwanese project “Leave No One Behind”.

On Monday, September 9, more than two hundred new laptops from Taiwan were delivered and began to be distributed to schools in Ivano-Frankivsk as part of the “Leave No One Behind” partnership between Ukraine and Taiwan.

As part of the project, students joined two-day camps on business and innovation. They shared their business ideas and projects with classmates. After the camp, they got certificates for computer equipment for their school’s IT classrooms.

"The chalkboard is a thing of the past, every school needs computers," says Irina Sumaryk, head of the Education, Youth, and Sports Department in Verkhovyna Village Council. "Subjects like innovation and business are not part of the school program. You can learn these things in paid courses. But thanks to the Taiwanese education project, our children received important knowledge in their community, and schools will get modern computer classrooms."

The Verkhovyna community in the Ivano-Frankivsk region includes 11 mountain villages. In total, there are 29 educational institutions in the community, 12 of which are preschools.

We started our educational camps in the mountain villages of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. "We were able to work with 16 schools and visit remote areas. About 5,000 children study in these schools," said Maria Makivnichuk, the project manager for the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

As soon as the computer equipment arrived from Taiwan to Ukraine, we delivered it to the schools. Children must start using modern technology with new equipment from the new school year. Thanks to our partner, Taiwan, we will also hold these camps in the Lviv region and Poltava. Currently, 48 computer science teachers from three regions are upgrading their skills at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) with a special teaching method. Their schools will also get computer classrooms. This is an important part of the 'Leave No One Behind' project. "We are working to equip more schools with computers soon," explained Uliana Pak, project coordinator of “Leave No One Behind.”

The project is carried out by the public organization "All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum," with the support of Taiwan and the assistance of Mykola Kniazhytskyi. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of education and make technology more accessible to students.

"As part of our cooperation with partners from Taiwan, dozens of Ukrainian schools will receive computer classrooms. We will deliver more than 1100 computers, which the children will use to learn. We started the entrepreneurship and innovation camps in villages located in the mountainous regions of Ukraine. Many people who were escaping the war came here. The children here will have the same opportunities as those in other towns and cities. This is our investment in the future, to make sure that young people stay, grow, and work in Ukraine. Our schools must be the best, and our children the brightest. Together, we will build a better country," highlighted the founder of the Public Organization "All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum," Mykola Kniazhytskyi.
